Happy Last Day of 2010!!!
For my final post of the year, I thought it fitting to respond to the final Reverb10 prompt:
December 31 – Core Story
What central story is at the core of you, and how do you share it with the world? (Bonus: Consider your reflections from this month. Look through them to discover a thread you may not have noticed until today.)
(Author: Molly O’Neill)
WOWSA! What a terrific and terrifying notion to ask ourselves. To be honest I feel like this is the million dollar question- a bit like What Is The Meaning Of Life, no?
Perhaps because I’m a water sign (Pisces in the house- woo hoo!) or because I’m terrified of commitment, my initial answer to this prompt was that my Central Story is constantly changing and flowing. I have a variety of interests, many of which I only began to truly explore in 2010. Letting myself out of my one-track mindset for my career, whole new worlds of creativity, fulfillment, and excitement came rushing in.
Suddenly, I found myself waking up everyday wondering what delicious possibilities awaited me. Of course, there were plenty of moments of fear, self-doubt, and anxiety, but when the haze of the unknown started clearing away, I was left with a feeling of peace. Glimmering rays of self-awareness peaked through to fill me with hope, optimism, and strength. The Central Story at the core of me illuminated and warmed until it started to form shape.
I’m still adjusting my eyes to the brilliance of self-discovery, but so far what I see is a person who believes in the good of humankind, the responsibility we have to our planet and all it’s inhabitants, the comfort of close friends, the lessons passed down from our parents, the unexplainable devotional love of a partner, the necessity to create and express ourselves, and the undeniable right to pursue happiness, fulfillment, and mind-blowing joy.
I’m still learning how to best share my Central Story, but for now writing this blog, coaching clients who want to experience radiance for themselves, creating memories with my dearest friends, family, and partner, and reaching out to communities like this beautiful group of Reverb10 writers, I find myself ever closer to bathing in the warmth that comes from the clarity of knowing Who.I.Am.
Thank you for letting me share my story with you. Happy New Year and I’ll see you in 2011!
Today’s Morning DO is discover what message you want to share with the world in the coming year. Cheers!
