About Show & Tell

 

Show & Tell is about expressing your message in ways that connect and inspire. We focus here on sharing our stories through writing, capturing images (photography and video), and speaking in front of an audience.

Each week I write about the pursuit of choosing our own adventures and the lessons learned from countless misadventures. I also offer my two cents on finding, shaping, and sharing our stories, in addition to providing quotes and photography for the purpose of inspiration. I believe that by discovering, shaping, and sharing defining moments we can become better leaders/artists/coaches/teachers/entrepreneurs/members-of-planet-earth.

You should also know I subscribe to the credo that life is not a dress rehearsal. Let’s make it count, make it matter, and make it amazing!

Writing:

We write when the desire to share a story can no longer be contained within the mind.

  • On the blog: weekly musings about inspiration, connection, and purpose. Often infused with stories related to travel, arts, and philosophy.

Photography:

A picture is worth a thousand words and forms a silent dialogue between the photographer and the viewer.

  • We don’t have to be professional photographers to create photos that resonate. I’ve always loved photography but never shared my own images because I’m not a photographer by trade. But I’ve since learned that a photograph can tell a story, no matter the aptitude of the person behind the lens, nor the quality of the camera. Unless otherwise noted, all the photos on Show & Tell are my own.
  • Each week on Show & Tell is Photo Friday! The photos come with a quote and a small caption. The rest is up to your imagination.
  • I also love to connect and share visual stories on Instagram (@missmmccarthy), Pinterest, and Flickr.

Video Making:

Nothing can tell a story quite like a movie: Every aspect of storytelling is present.

These  3-5 minute HD movies are filmed on location and provide your message, brand, and product with a sunning visual story.

This service is perfect for entrepreneurs, artists, non-profits, etc. who have a physical product or demonstration to showcase on camera (i.e. jewelry-makers, bakers, yoga instructors, etc).

Share Your Story: Introductory Videos

Once a month our team rents out a spacious Manhattan studio to film our clients sharing their stories. Each session lasts 45-minutes and the result is a 1-3 minute professional video introducing your story, brand, message, and product to your audience.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, artist or life/business/health coach, we create insightful and fun documentary-style videos that connect your audience with the story of you and your business. But not everyone needs a full production to showcase their story. That’s why we offer our in-studio filming sessions. With our creative director guiding you through your story and consulting from off-camera, you are guaranteed to articulately and confidently share your message.
